As a Production Assistant at Media Op, I supported day-to-day studio operations and media production projects, helping create a seamless experience for both the production team and clients. Working in a fast-paced studio environment, I gained hands-on experience with professional equipment, production workflows, and post-production tools while contributing to the success of photo and video shoots.
What did I do?
My role involved supporting productions from setup to post-production. I assisted with lighting and camera preparation, equipment organization, studio maintenance, and client support to ensure shoots ran efficiently and professionally. In addition to on-set responsibilities, I worked with Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop to support content organization, basic editing tasks, and visual asset creation. These experiences allowed me to develop a stronger understanding of the full production process, from planning and execution to final deliverables.
Great productions often depend on the work happening behind the camera. Small details, preparation, and teamwork can make the difference between a smooth shoot and a stressful one.
What was my role?
I worked closely with the production team to maintain studio readiness, manage equipment, and provide support during client sessions. Whether setting up lighting, troubleshooting technical issues, organizing inventory, or assisting with post-production tasks, my goal was to help create an efficient environment where the creative team could focus on producing great work. The role required adaptability, attention to detail, and strong communication, especially when balancing technical responsibilities with client interactions.
What stands out about this experience?
This was my first opportunity to experience the fast-paced nature of professional media production. I learned how much coordination happens behind the scenes and how important preparation is to a successful shoot. Working directly with cameras, lighting equipment, editing software, and clients gave me exposure to multiple areas of the creative process and helped me better understand how production teams collaborate to bring ideas to life.

One of my biggest takeaways was realizing that successful productions are built on preparation and organization. Managing equipment, maintaining studio readiness, and solving problems quickly were often just as important as the creative work itself.
