As the UX Design Intern at Allied Solutions, I focused on enhancing the user experience of one of Allied’s digital products, with a particular emphasis on improving the usability of the payment page. Working in two-week sprints, I iterated on designs based on user testing and stakeholder feedback. My primary tools included Figma for interface design and Lucid for mapping user flows and collaboration.

Other Opportunities

This internship provided me many opportunities outside of my day-to-day work, to learn real-life skills and network with employees within and outside of the company.

Corporate Challenge: a city-wide event where employees from various companies compete in athletic and team-building activities. It promotes wellness, teamwork, and company pride in a fun, community-focused setting.

Reflection

My internship was a meaningful experience that allowed me to grow both professionally and personally. I worked on real UX design projects, participated in company events, and gained a deeper understanding of workplace culture and benefits.

Design Experience: I contributed to improving the user experience of Allied’s digital products, focusing on the payment page. Using tools like Figma and Lucid, I designed and iterated on solutions in two-week sprints. I learned how to incorporate user feedback, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and balance usability with business goals.

Team & Culture Engagement: Outside of design work, I participated in many events, in and outside the workplace which taught me so many things I can apply to my life outside of work. I was also able to connect with coworkers and build lasting relationships.

Key Takeaways: Improved my design skills and confidence in tools like Figma and Lucid. I learned how to iterate quickly and respond to feedback in agile environments. I gained a better understanding of workplace etiquette and company-sponsored benefits. Finally, I built stronger communication and collaboration skills through real-world projects and events.
